QUANTUM KABBALAH
Regarding “Developing the Kabbalah of information” (Sept. 23), Eduard Shyfrin has written a book and several articles on the connection and relationship between Kabbalah, quantum physics and information theory, having already published multiple articles in The Jerusalem Post. Originally I was quite skeptical – how could an ancient metaphysical philosophy reveal and explore secrets of the universe as modern science, quantum physics and the statistical convolutions of information theory?
But then, some time ago, I was confronted with a difficult problem in radiation solid state physics concerning the transfer of information – action at a distance – between quantum electrons and holes following irradiation and the creation of light during heating. I was stymied and decided to return to a book on Kabbalah left to me by my grandfather, Rabbi Isaiah Horowitz, a descendant of the Shelah Hakadosh (Shnei Luchot Habrit) and a learned Kabbalist.
After intense reading, I found the answer in a Kabbalistic interpretation of information theory. Some days later, I had a complete solution to my problem, which I later published in a refereed physics journal. Many readers were astonished at the similarities between Kabbalah and modern quantum treatment of information transfer and propagation.
More power to Shyfrin and his deep understanding of modern quantum physics, action at a distance, information theory and Kabbalah.
