’Batch of condoms may be counterfeit’

Condoms examined by Health Ministry inspectors are suspected of being counterfeit. The “Durex Extra Safe” packages, batch number 0010124442, with a 3/2011 manufacturing date and 2/16 expiration date, were not original or marketed by the original importer. The ministry said that out of precaution, it seized 28 packages.

They may not be effective as a means of contraception or protective enough against the transmission of sexually transmitted illnesses, the ministry warned.
