Sigal Maor, VP of Service and Sales at Dun & Bradstreet, hosted senior executives of the hi-tech sector at the company’s offices in Givatayim last week, as part of Dun’s 100 Forum. Participants included Eyal Waldman, founder and CEO of Mellanox; Guy Hadari, CIO and executive VP at Teva; Aviram Zolty, vice chief scientist at the Economy Ministry; Amit Baruch, VP of emerging technologies at Intel; Gilad de Vries, SVP of strategy at Outbrain; Uzi Navon, CEO of Oracle; Dr. Esther Luzatto, managing partner at Luzatto & Luzatto; hi-tech entrepreneur Dov Moran; and Ronit Ben-Bassat, CEO of Israel-America Chamber of Commerce.
Gindi Holdings’ Market
Gindi Holdings’ owners – Lital, Avi, Guy, Roy and Menahem Gindi – and Sharon Moman, CEO of the new market in the Sarona compound in Tel Aviv, officially opened the gates of the much-anticipated Sarona Market culinary center last week, four years after the project was first announced. Sarona Market was inspired by other leading markets around the world, such as the Borough Market in London, Chelsea Market in New York City, La Boqueria Market in Barcelona and the global chain of markets “Eataly.”
Among the tasters at the grand opening were the Market’s culinary adviser, Yaron Kestenbaum and chefs Segev Moshe and Israel Aharoni.
The Jaffa Institute
Naomi and Chaim Horowitz hosted an evening at the Tel Aviv Hilton last Wednesday in recognition of the Jaffa Institute staff. Among those present were chairman and founder David Portowitz, CEO Hezki Portowitz, Danny Margalit, chairman of the event, Nachum Feinberg, CEO and owner of Tigbur, Orit Benvenisti and CEO of Cal, Doron Sapir. Portowitz surprised Horowitz when he invited him to the stage to receive a bouquet of flowers in honor of his 55th birthday.
CEO get-together in Acre
CEOs of companies whose brands were conferred as “Superbrands in Israel,” which is run by Etty Amiad and Eran Yasur, were invited to participate in a day of fun in Acre, which included a tour through the alleyways of the Old City led by Mayor Shimon Lankri. Guests watched the sun set over the Mediterranean Sea as they were served a traditional Acre fish dinner on the balcony of the Efendi boutique hotel. Among the guests were Zion Balas, Itzik Tzaig, Anat Gabriel, Adi Soffer-Teeni, Lior Reitblatt and Rami Levy.
Disney on Ice
The international Disney Festival, which opened recently at the Tel Aviv Drive-In, drew crowds of visitors, including many happy children. The Disney on Ice show, sponsored by Disney and Isracard, was based on the Disney films Ice Age and Cars. Figures spotted at the opening ceremony include Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai, Isracard chairman Dan Koller, Isracard CEO Ronen Stein, CEO Disney Israel Tami Landsmann, David Fattal, CEO Golf Eli Mizroch, CEO IKEA Israel Shuki Koblenz, Inbal and Toby Schmeltzer, Adina Levy, her daughter Yafit AtiasLevy and grandchildren.
