BIU grants honorary doc­tor­ate

Bar-Ilan Univer­sity will grant honorary doc­tor­ates to lead­ing fig­ures in­clud­ing NASA Ad­min­is­tra­tor Charles F. Bolden Jr. and Aus­tralian-Is­raeli Jewish leader and Jerusalem Post con­trib­u­tor Isi Leibler. The cer­e­mony will take place on its Ra­mat Gan campus on Tues­day at the 61st Board of Trustees meet­ing, with Bolden de­liv­er­ing a spe­cial lecture Mon­day on NASA’s jour­ney to Mars. The re­cip­i­ents in­clude among oth­ers: No­bel Prize win­ning physi­cist Prof. Serge Haroche, in­spi­ra­tional speaker Miriam Peretz, for­mer Supreme Court jus­tice Ja­cob Turkel, Is­rael Prize win­ning com­poser Nu­rit Hirsh, US Jewish wel­fare ac­tivist Rabbi Haskel Look­stein, Rabbi Shlomo Di­chovsy, and the Bnei Akiva Youth Move­ment. Dur­ing the course of the week, the univer­sity will also cel­e­brate the ded­i­ca­tion of the We­is­feld Clin­ics Wing in the Louis and Gabi We­is­feld School of So­cial Work. •
