1. Suchard
Mentalist Lior Suchard recently returned from the US where he appeared at the International Energy Conference held at the Tesla Motors Factory in Palo Alto, California. Suchard posted a picture of himself with Elon Musk, founder of PayPal, Tesla Motors and SpaceX whose fortune is estimated at $12.2 billion.
2. HIT
Last Wednesday, at the new Toto Sports Arena in Holon, the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) held its graduation ceremony for bachelor and master degree students. HIT President Professor Eduard Yakubov and HIT Chairman of the Board of Trustees Pini Cohen, who contributed NIS 180,000 earmarked for breakthrough projects, and HIT Chairman of the Executive Committee Zvi Tropp awarded former president Shimon Peres with a lifetime achievement award and honorary degrees to Bank Hapoalim Chairman Yair Seroussi and Ormat founder Yehudit (Dita) Bronicki.
3. IDC Herzliya
Last Thursday, IDC Herzliya awarded honorary degrees to a number of outstanding individuals for their generous contributions in Israel and throughout the world. The awards were handed out by president and founder of IDC Prof. Uriel Reichman and IDC Chairman of the Board Oudi Recanati. Among the recipients were Adi Altshuler, Yehudit and Avi Tiomkin, Prof. Dov Pekelman, and Prof. Jurgen Ruttgers. Following the ceremony, the Friends of IDF held their annual festive gala dinner.
4. Sheetrit nuptials
Last Thursday, Businesswoman Ruth Sheetrit and her husband former minister Meir Sheetrit, married off their daughter Naama to her fiancé Adam Goshen. Havat Ronit, where the ceremony took place, was covered with gorgeous flower arrangements and unique lighting. Among the people spotted at the nuptials were Irina Nevzlin and Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein, who will be getting married at the same location next week, Osnat and Yaakov Peri, Michal and Isaac Herzog, Sarah and Moshe Elalouf, Evelyne and Pierre Besnainou, Benny Arad and Yafit Greenberg, Elisheva and Roni Milo, Yoav and Claudine Galant, and Miki and Michal Zellermayer.
5. Top brass wedding
Last Thursday, Roey, the son of Friends of the IDF National Director and CEO Maj.Gen. (res.) Meir Klifi-Amir and his wife Gen. (res.) Gila Klifi, married his fiancé Lee, the daughter of Chagit and Gary Fieldman who made aliya from Scotland just two months ago. Many of the guests were Israeli defense officials who had served alongside the Klifi couple over the years. Attending included former defense minister Shaul Mofaz, former defense minister Moshe Bogie Ya’alon, and former IDF chiefs of staff Gabi Ashkenazi and Benny Gantz, Maj. Gen. Orna Barbivai, Maj. Gen. (res.) Yitzhak Gershon, Yisrael Ziv, Ayesh Yaakov, Avi Mizrachi, and FIDF chairman emeritus Arthur Stark.
