Hamas vows more Ramadan ‘surprises’
Palestinians celebrate deadly attack
Palestinians in the West Bank and east Jerusalem took to the streets to celebrate the deadly terrorist shooting in Tel Aviv on Wednesday night, as Hamas threatened to carry out additional terror attacks against Israelis throughout the month of Ramadan.
Upon hearing the reports of the shooting, dozens of Palestinians gathered at Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem, singing out loud and cheering the gunmen.
In the West Bank city of Tulkarm, young men took to the streets and distributed candies to local drivers, while in the Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem dozens of Palestinians participated in a march praising the terrorist attack.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the largest group in the PLO after Fatah, described the killings as “a natural response to field executions conducted by the Zionist occupation.”
Hamas also praised the attack in a statement, but did not claim responsibility for it.
Hamas spokesman Hussam Badran called it “the first prophecy of Ramadan” and said the location of the attack, across the road from Israel’s Defense Ministry, “indicated the failure of all measures by the occupation” to end the uprising. The Islamist terrorist group also said Wednesday’s shooting “is the first of many surprises that will be waiting” for Israel in the next month.
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh posted an image on Twitter after the attack of one of the shooters and labeled him a “hero” for his actions.
Palestinians also expressed their joy on social media networks, where they created the hashtags “#Carlo Bullet,” after the name of the improvised submachine gun used in the attack, and “#Ramadan Operation” to laud the horrendous shooting.
