1. Mimi Luzon
Skin well-being expert Mimi Luzon has just returned from Milan where she launched her new cosmetics line that will be marketed in Italy at the 25 branches of her Beauty by Mimi chain. Luzon was present on location to supervise the new campaign and to pose for photos with model Nibar Madar, who was chosen as the new face of Beauty by Mimi products.
2. Youth at risk
Youth at Risk, an NGO which helps thousands of Israeli children who were removed from their homes and who live in dormitories, celebrated 30 years of operation last Wednesday. Yaron Brown and Moti Winter, director and chairman of the NGO, thanked outgoing First International Bank of Israel Chairman Roni Hizkiyahu. There to celebrate were Smadar Barber Tzadik, CEO of First International Bank of Israel; Rami and Yehudit Nussbaum; and Ora and Roni Naftali.
3. Cancer research
Chairman of the Israel Cancer Research Fund ICRF, Tamir Gilat, together with hi-tech entrepreneur Sharon Tal, organized the organization’s annual fundraising event. Gilat himself suffered from cancer in 2011 and since then he has been spending a great amount of energy raising public awareness and funds for cancer research. Attending the evening were Gilat’s wife Keren Nahari, Dalia and Moti Sela, Prof. Zeev and Ruti Rothstein, Prof. Itzik Kreis, Yoav Papushado, Ruben Eblagon and Zvi Williger.
4. Bar mitzva
Billionaire Idan Ofer and Yifat Gurion, his third wife, celebrated their son Koren’s bar mitzva last Thursday at Petah Tikva Studios. There was an impressive show with soccer stunts and good wishes for the bar mitzva boy from international soccer stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar. Confetti fell down as guests enjoyed gourmet catering. Among the guests were Batya Ofer, Idan’s current wife, Teddy Sagi and Yael Nizri, Lev Leviev, Nochi Dankner, Ora and Nir Gilad, Irit Isaacson, Ron Prosor, Chava Alfred and George Akirov.
5. Design Museum Holon
Last week, the Design Museum Holon, together with the Holon Municipality, celebrated the opening of a new exhibition titled ‘Overview,’ which is dedicated completely to eyeglasses. For the first time, the public will be able to view Claude Samuel’s magnificent collection of more than 1,300 spectacles ranging from the 17th century to the present day. Attending were Mayor Moti Sasson, acting chief curator Mia Dabash, Ami Ilan, Kobi Lapidot and Zeiss representative Baudouin Series, who came to Israel from Germany especially for the exhibition.
