A pregnant woman gave birth via emergency c-section in Jerusalem on Monday morning after she was stabbed in the stomach inside a hotel room during a dispute allegedly involving her husband and a second man over who was the baby’s father.

While details of the attack remain unclear, according to police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, an unidentified 27-yearold Arab man from east Jerusalem stabbed the woman following a heated exchange with the Jewish woman’s husband.

The unidentified woman, 36, was rushed to Shaare Zedek Medical Center, where she delivered a healthy baby. Both are in stable condition.

Rosenfeld said the attack took place shortly after 10 a.m. in a hotel off Ben-Hillel Street in downtown Jerusalem.

“We know it was a romantic issue, and that the woman was moderately wounded when she was stabbed by an Arab man, who was part of a dispute with her husband over who the father was,” he said. “The suspect was arrested outside the hotel with the knife, while the woman was taken to the hospital.”
