1. Ma’ase Center
The Tel Aviv Museum of Art hosted the annual fund-raiser for the Ma’ase Center, a subsidiary association of the Rashi Foundation, which promotes youth volunteering in outlying cities during the pre-army volunteer year or during National Service. Those who came to support were: Chairman of Ma’ase Noam Lautman, Gabi Ashkenazi, the chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of the Rashi Foundation, MK Merav BenAri and artist Igal Jusidman.
2. De Rothschild Fellowships
The winners of the Ariane de Rothschild fellowships came to celebrate academic excellence. In an event at the Edmond de Rothschild Center in Tel Aviv, the female winners, who shattered the academic glass ceiling, met with other top women researchers and contributors to society. The Baroness Ariane de Rothschild, Nobel Prize winner Prof. Ada Yonath, Chairwoman of the Council for Higher Education Prof. Yaffa Zilbershats, Ben-Gurion University President Prof. Rivka Carmi and Vice Chairman of the Rothschild Caesarea Foundation Guy Swersky attended the event.
3. Diaspora achievement
Irina Nevzlin, the chairwoman of the Beit Hatfutsot – The Museum of The Jewish People, and its director-general, Dan Tadmor, hosted at the museum 350 UJA-Federation of New York donors, activand ists senior executives to an appreciation event to celebrate 100 years of achievement and contribution to Jews around the world and to the State of Israel. Hannah Prizan and Adi Akunis, chairwoman and director of Israel Friends of Beit Hatfutsot, respectively, attended, along with Jeffrey Schoenfeld, a partner in the BBH investment firm and president of the UJA-Federation of New York, Eric S. Goldstein, the federation’s CEO, and Ilan Halperin, the organization’s director of resource development and missions.
4. Rubinstein competition
The Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition took place Thursday at the Tel Aviv Culture Palace. Chairman of the competition’s jury was pianist Arie Vardi, winner of the Education Ministry’s Lifetime Achievement Award and 2017 winner of the Israel Prize for Music. Some of those who came to see one of the most prestigious pianist competitions in the world included the organization’s director Idit Zvi, maestro Nir Brand, Annabelle Whitestone, who was Rubinstein’s partner, Sara Sela, Navah Barak, and Ami and Lizika Sagi.
5. Sharing thoughts
Hundreds of clients and guests of UBS Wealth Management took part Thursday in a unique forum in Tel Aviv, called “Thoughts Worth Sharing.” UBS Wealth Management Israel general-manager Udi Dahan organized the event, which included a marathon session of discussions and lectures on investing in projects that will improve society, and not just provide returns for the investors. Global Chief Economist of UBS Paul Donovan and Rina Kupferschmid-Rojas, head of sustainable investing for UBS Wealth Management, attended the event.
