Indians outduel Jays Mets edge A's with walk-off HR Judge goes yard but Mariners beat Yankees

Corey Seager, Chase Utley and Chris Taylor homered, and Rich Hill pitched 61/3 strong innings to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves at Dodger Stadium on Saturday night.

Hill (7-4) struck out eight and allowed two runs and six hits. Los Angeles snapped a two-game slide after winning 11 in a row.

Taylor also delivered a two-run triple in the eighth inning to provide the final margin. His home run made it 4-2 in the seventh.

Indians 2, Blue Jays 1 (10)

Francisco Lindor’s home run leading off the bottom of the 10th inning lifted Cleveland over Toronto.

Lindor hit a 3-2 pitch from reliever Danny Barnes (2-3) over the right field wall for his 15th home run. Bryan Shaw (3-4) got the last out of the top of the 10th to get the win.

Mets 6, Athletics 5

Wilmer Flores’ walk-off homer in the ninth inning capped a stirring comeback by New York, which scored the final six runs to stun Oakland.

Flores’ line-drive homer into the left field seats off Simon Castro (0-1) gave the Mets their fourth straight win. New York tied the score in the eighth when Travis d’Arnaud doubled with two outs and scored on Lucas Duda’s pinch-hit RBI single.

Mariners 6, Yankees 5 (10)

Nelson Cruz singled home Ben Gamel with the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as Seattle overcame another home run by Aaron Judge to defeat New York.

Gamel, a former Yankee, led off the 10th with a double off the center-wall field against New York reliever Adam Warren (2-2). After an intentiona­l walk to Robinson Cano, Cruz lined a single to left field to score the winning run.

The Yankees tied the score in the ninth against closer Edwin Diaz, who had converted all five of his save opportunit­ies since the All-Star break, on Ronald Torreyes’s two-out RBI single.

Cubs 3, Cardinals 2

Anthony Rizzo hit a go-ahead double in a three-run eighth inning as Chicago rallied past St. Louis.

The Cubs tied the score in the eighth with Ben Zobrist’s RBI double and Kris Bryant’s broken-bat, RBI single.

Paul DeJong and Randal Grichuk hit back-to-back home runs off Jon Lester (7-6) in the eighth inning to put the Cardinals ahead.

Angels 7, Red Sox 3

Albert Pujols had three hits and Andrelton Simmons hit his 10th home run of the season and drove in three runs as Los Angeles defeated Boston.

The Angels’ J.C. Ramirez (9-8) had a rough two innings, allowing four hits and two walks and making an error, then bounced back and retired 12 straight at one point to pick up the win. Ben Revere had two hits and a stolen base for Los Angeles.

The Red Sox’s David Price (5-3), who had allowed only two runs in his previous 23 innings, gave up six runs (five earned), seven hits and walked three in five innings, his worst outing since an early June loss to the Yankees.

Brewers 9, Phillies 8

Domingo Santana hit the tie-breaking single with one out in the top of the ninth inning as Milwaukee blew a seven-run lead against Philadelph­ia but snapped a six-game losing streak.

Ryan Braun returned after missing three games with a sore wrist and drove in four runs for the Brewers by going 3-for-3 and finishing a triple shy of the cycle. Milwaukee’s Brent Suter scattered five hits and allowed one run in six solid innings.

Nationals 4, Diamondbac­ks 3

Bryce Harper homered and doubled and Tanner Roark held Arizona to two runs in seven innings as Washington edged Arizona.

Roark (8-6) gave up three hits while striking out 11 and walking one. Anthony Banda (0-1) allowed four runs and seven hits in 52/3 innings in his major league debut with five strikeouts and zero walks.

Harper hit his 25th homer, a solo shot deep into the right-field pavilion in the first inning.

The homer extended his hitting streak to 15 games, the longest active run in the majors.

Astros 8, Orioles 4

Marwin Gonzalez belted a pinch-hit, three-run homer off Darren O’Day, sparking a five-run sixth inning that gave Houston the lead for good en route to a victory over Baltimore.

The Orioles took a 4-1 lead into the sixth, but Chris Tillman gave up a tworun homer to Yuli Gurriel that was originally ruled a double. After a review, it was changed to a home run.

Rockies 7, Pirates 3

Rookie German Marquez stymied Pittsburgh for seven innings and won his third straight start to lift Colorado.

Closer Greg Holland pitched the final 11/3 innings for his 31st save in 32 opportunit­ies. It was Holland’s fourth save where he pitched more than one inning, something he hadn’t done before this season in nearly six years.

Rangers 4, Rays 3

For the second night in a row, Texas rallied from a late two-run deficit as a fielding error doomed Tampa Bay.

Mallex Smith let a line drive from Adrian Beltre go off his glove in deep center field for an error with two outs in the sixth inning, allowing two runs to score and putting the go-ahead run in scoring position. Tampa Bay’s Chris Archer (7-6) compounded the problem with two wild pitches, allowing Beltre to score.

Twins 6, Tigers 5

Kyle Gibson dazzled for seven innings before tiring late and rookie Zack Granite had his first career three-hit game as Minnesota held off Detroit.

Max Kepler, Eddie Rosario and Jason Castro each had two hits for the Twins, who built a 6-0 lead before the Tigers’ late five-run eighth inning. Gibson (6-8) pitched a season-high 71/3 innings with three runs allowed, five hits and three walks.

Royals 7, White Sox 2

Salvador Perez hit a two-run blast and Mike Moustakas homered twice as Kansas City rallied past Chicago.

Brandon Moss and Jorge Bonifacio added solo shots for the Royals. Scott Alexander (2-3) picked up the victory after replacing Jason Vargas in the sixth. (Reuters)
