Top British DJ Bonobo to perform in TA in Feb.

- • By SHAWN RODGERS BRITISH DJ BONOBO (Neil Krug)

British musician/producer/DJ Simon Green, professionally known as Bonobo, will be performing in Israel for the first time on February 21 at the Tel Aviv Convention Center.

Combining various musical styles such as jazz, house, folk and soul with African, Asian and Middle Eastern influences, it’s clear why Bonobo has been described by Electronic Beats magazine as one of the most prolific “genre shunning” producers.

Green started Bonobo in 1999 as a solo electronics project rooted in hip-hop sampling and beatmaking. Following the release of his 2006 album, Days to Come, he began to incorporate live instrumentation in his recordings and live shows.

In January of this year, Bonobo released his sixth album, Migration. Pitchfork called it “the most sophisticated record of his career.” The album features his recent collaboration “No Reason” with Aussie favorite Nick Murphy (aka Chet Faker).

Now Bonobo is touring with a six-member crew that includes live drums, keyboards, vocals, guitar, bass, woodwinds and, of course, Green on a bank of electronics. Tickets start at NIS 229. For tickets: https://bonobolive.goshow.co.il.
