Hateful anti-Arab graffiti found in Jerusalem following deadly attack

- • By UDI SHAHAM

Anti-Arab graffiti was found on walls and cars early Monday morning in the neighborhood of Pisgat Ze’ev in northern Jerusalem. Vandals also slashed the tires of several vehicles.

In hurried Hebrew script lettering, the graffiti reads: “The Arabs of Jerusalem are terrorists, expel or kill them”; “Let us take care of them”; and “There is no place in the Land of Israel for foreigners and the enemies of God.”

The graffiti was written one day after a stabbing attack in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, in which Adiel Kolman, a 32-year-old father of four, was killed by a Palestinian assailant.

The Israel Police said that a forensics team arrived at the scene and an investigation was launched into the incident.

Gadi Gvaryahu, the chairman of the NGO Tag Meir, which fights racism, said: “The Tag Meir forum condemns the murder of Adiel Kolman from Kochav Hashahar by a despicable terrorist. These price-tag actions in Pisgat Ze’ev by Jewish extremists will only make the walls of hatred higher, and will endanger the lives of innocents Jews and Arabs.”

In January, two similar incidents were reported in Jerusalem within 10 days.

In the first incident, several cars were vandalized in the village of Beit Iksa, located dozens of meters away from the capital’s northern Ramot neighborhood. The cars were vandalized with spray paint, with phrases such as “Death to all Arabs” and “Revenge” on them. Some vehicles’ tires were slashed.

In the second incident, a car was burned and “Death to Arabs, price tag” was spray-painted in Hebrew on a wall in the Arab neighborhood of Beit Safafa in southern Jerusalem.
