1. Table Manners
A unique project at the Tel Aviv University Gallery called Table Manners that focuses on art, theater and food and their place in culture was recently inaugurated. The event was a private event for Julius Baer Group, a Swiss private banking group, which was attended by Yariv Norenberg, head of the Israeli representation of Julius Baer; Yves Robert-Charrue, senior managing director and head of the European region; Stephen Camp, vice president of the European region; President of Tel Aviv University Joseph Klafter; curator Nirit Nelson; and culinary curator Ronit Vered.
2. Shanti House
Last Thursday, the Shanti House, the association that provides shelter for youth at risk, inaugurated its permanent building not far from the Tel Aviv coast. Attending the event were President Reuven Rivlin, who nailed the mezuza on the building; Welfare Minister Haim Katz; Opposition leader Isaac Herzog; Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai; Marian and Doron Livnat, who contributed to the building that was built in memory of Yitzhak Livnat; and Michal Negrin and her daughter Yasmin. Mariuma and Michael Ben Yosef, founders of the Shanti House, were excited to host all the people who were working for the benefit of the youth and the construction of the new building.
3. Malka
Chef Eyal Shani, together with his partner Shahar Segal and members of the Dualis Foundation, recently opened a new restaurant called Malka in the Asia House in Tel Aviv. The restaurant functions as a social enterprise that trains and employs youth at risk. The kosher restaurant will work in cooperation with ELEM, which treats young people at risk, by training them as cooks. Through the program, they receive personal, group and professional guidance. Hanoch Barkat, the chairman of the Dualis Foundation, told those gathered that he was overjoyed to work in cooperation with Shani. Attending were Gil Shwed, Meital Danino, Zvika Ziv and Michal Herzog.
4. Bloomfield Science
The Executive Committee of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem opened its summit with a festive evening at the Bloomfield Science Museum in Jerusalem. The guests were treated to a tour and lecture on distant planets. Attending were Yehudit and Yehuda Bronicki, the new Israel Prize laureate recipients, who are also members of the Board of Governors of Hebrew University, in their first public appearance since the announcement of the award; Hebrew University President Prof. Asher Cohen; Chairman of the Board of Governors Mickey Federman, who is also a controlling shareholders of Elbit Systems and Dan Hotels; and Ronen Barel, chairman of Ernst & Young Israel and a member of the Board of Governors.
5. Wissotzky
Shalom Seidler, chairman and owner of the Wissotzky Group, and Nili Zur, CEO of Wissotzky, hosted the Japanese ambassador to Israel, Koji Tomita, at the Wissotzky plant in the Kedat Galil Park in northern Israel, to celebrate the launching of the Wissotzky green tea with Japanese matcha tea. The hosts honored the ambassador during the tour by requesting that he choose the name of the new robot that recently arrived at the factory direct from Japan.
