Acum Award recipients announced

Hanan Yovel and Ehud Banai will receive lifetime achievemen­t awards at the Israel Associatio­n of Composers, Authors and Publishers of Musical Works (ACUM) Awards on May 30, according to a statement released last week.

The prestigiou­s awards include a NIS 35,000 prize. Yovel was chosen for the Naomi Shemer award and Banai for the Ehud Manor award.

In addition, Shaike Paikov will be honored for his contributi­on to the Israeli culture, Ravid Plotnik (aka Nechi Nech) will get an achievemen­t award for his album Shefel Ve’Geut (Low and High Tide), Hanan Ben-Ari will be given an achievemen­t award for the song “Wikipedia” and the band Hagirafot will get the composers achievemen­t award.

Other recipients are Ya Ya Cohen Aharonov, Liron Amram. Yarden (Jordi) Peleg, Pen Hazut & Dolev Ram, Eyal Mezig, Hila Sheleg, Avigail Kovery and Miria, Etzioni.
