A PINK FERRIS WHEEL ON THE OCCASION OF BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH OCTOBER 2018

The Ferris Wheel at Luna Park in Tel Aviv was illuminate­d on Wednesday night in a pink light as part of a campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer by the Estée Lauder Group in Israel and the Israel Cancer Associatio­n.

Tel Aviv Fairground­s will be illuminate­d in a pink light during October and will be part of about 200 sites around the world during October that are being illuminate­d with pink lights, including the Empire State Building and the Rockefelle­r Center in New York, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Citadel in Milan, the Opera House in Sydney, the Tokyo Tower in Japan, Schonborn Palace in Prague and more. Oren Revach, CEO of the Estée Lauder Group in Israel, said: “The Estée Lauder Group has been working to raise awareness of breast cancer for 16 years. The goal of the project is singular and is of the utmost importance: to remind all women in Israel that early testing saves lives. We are excited about the Ferris Wheel in Luna Park at the Fairground­s being lit up this year, which is seen from many places in the Dan Region and on the Ayalon Highway, and can be a real reminder to thousands of women to go and get checked. “

According to Miri Ziv, the director general of the Israel Cancer Associatio­n, “It is important to raise awareness of the disease. Every type of activity like this saves lives. The willingnes­s of the companies to join the fight against breast cancer is worthy of appreciati­on and strengthen­s our efforts.”
