Is Jennifer Lopez coming to Israel?
Rumored TA concerts in 2012 and 2016 never materialized
Both Yediot Aharonot and Israel Hayom reported on Friday that singer and actress Jennifer Lopez will be performing in Israel this summer for the first time.
According to Yediot’s Raz Shechnik, Lopez gave the green light last week for a concert in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park. Israel
Hayom’s Eran Swissa said the concert is slated for August 1.
Lopez, known in tabloids as J.Lo, will be embarking on her first concert tour in seven years this summer. So far the tour, titled “It’s My Party,” has 29 dates in just the United States and Canada, finishing in Miami on July 26.
In both 2012 and 2016, Israeli media reported that Lopez had agreed to a concert in Tel Aviv, but neither show ever materialized. Lopez never officially announced a show in Israel on either occasion. Both times, the concert rumors were met with online campaigns by the BDS movement calling on Lopez to cancel.
The singer, 49, became engaged to former Yankees player Alex Rodriguez last month.
