Matthew Bronfman
The 60th birthday celebration for Matthew Bronfman, the Jewish-Canadian billionaire and controlling shareholder of IKEA Israel, was held in Israel last Wednesday evening. Bronfman invited his friends and associates to celebrate with him at Flam, a boutique winery in the Jerusalem Mountains. The motif of the evening was Italian atmosphere, with gourmet Italian-style cuisine, and lots of Italian musical compositions. There to celebrate were Bronfman’s wife, Melanie Bronfman; Shalom Fisher; Ziv Aviram; Eyal Waldman; Yosef Chechanover, Rani and Hila Rahav; Aviv and Perry Giladi; Ofer and Ravit Nimrodi; Miri and Herzl Habas; and IKEA Israel Managers.
The Next Big Thing
Shaul Kobrinsky, chairman of Israel Discount Bank, hosted the members of the Discount Group board of directors and management at a conference titled “The Next Big Thing,” which dealt with future challenges the banking industry is facing. The outgoing CEO of the bank, Lilach Asher-Topilsky and the newly appointed CEO, Uri Levin, attended the event. During the meeting, Kobrinsky talked about the adversity quotient (AQ) and the adaptability of managers and directors in a changing world. Guests at the event included: Banking Supervisor Dr. Hedva Bar, who spoke about technology and innovation in the banking industry; and Gil Shwed, founder and CEO of Check Point, who spoke about Check Point’s cyber solutions.

Singer Ivri Lider and artist Liron Carroll held a one-off joint performance at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. The proceeds of the show were dedicated to social activities at PHOTO IS:RAEL, a nonprofit organization that, among other things, organizes the annual Tel Aviv International Photography Festival. Alongside this, the organization conducts social activities throughout the country where volunteers teach group members to express themselves through photography. There to show their support were: Jacob Engel; Beni Levin; Matti Karp; Shay Baylis; Daphne Meitar; Alex Landsberg; and David Tadmor.
Rediscovering NY Fashion
An unusual collection of film slides, showing the New York fashion world of the 1980s and 1990s, was recently found lying around on one of New York City’s sidewalks. The collection is now on display in the Mythical Fashion District, as part of a new exhibition entitled “Rediscovering New York Fashion from 1982 to 1997.” The exhibit is on display in the gallery located at Times Square 10, at 1441 Broadway, the former home of some of New York’s most prominent designers. The opening night of the exhibition was held last Thursday and attended by historian and fashion curator Yaara Kedar, who curated the exhibition; the owner of ZAZ10TS gallery, Zili Charney; and the decor designer, Jayton Bartol.

Yifat Irani, members of her family, and cosmetic brand owner Mimi Luzon, launched their collaboration last Wednesday: FACTORY54 * MIMI LUZON GLOW TO GO. In honor of the occasion, the Factory 54 store at the Ramat Aviv Mall was decked out in golden holiday colors. A pop-up GLOW TO GO complex was created on the premises, which offers quick beauty treatments, including the famous “Golden Mask” by Mimi Luzon, enjoyed by famous international stars from around the world.
