We thank you, Jason Greenblatt

- • By MIKE EVANS

After nearly three years as the United States special representative for international negotiations and as an assistant to US President Donald Trump, Jason Greenblatt announced that he is stepping down from his roles. What he has accomplished within these two positions is incredible, and for that, Greenblatt is thanked.

After announcing his resignation, Greenblatt stated “It has been the honor of a lifetime to have worked in the White House for over two and a half years under the leadership of President Trump. I am incredibly grateful to have been part of a team that drafted a vision for peace. This vision has the potential to vastly improve the lives of millions of Israelis, Palestinians and others in the region.”

In the public sphere, Mr. Greenblatt has been called the “Architect of the ‘Deal of the Century,’” and if this peace plan is successful, he will be duly credited with taking part in securing peace for the State of Israel. Many have recognized that Greenblatt’s perspective and approach to Middle Eastern affairs, Israel’s history, the protection of the Jewish people and American politics, has set him as an exemplary mediator in how to approach the current situation on the ground.

At the beginning of his role as the special representative for international negotiations, Greenblatt traveled to the region and met with concerned Israelis and Palestinians. His aim was to bring both parties together and he earned praise from both sides of the conflict for being what many described as a “good listener.” Under his leadership, the United States and its embassy in Jerusalem has brought the US-Israel bond to a new and strengthened diplomatic level.

President Trump had warm words for Jason Greenblatt on Twitter: “Jason has been a loyal and great friend and fantastic lawyer,” and praised his “dedication to Israel.”

I want to express gratitude

Jason who is a great leader. Everything that has happened under the president is because of his leadership and his team. We have honored Jason in the City of Jerusalem with the Friends of Zion Award and we will miss him dearly. We know Jason Greenblatt – nothing will change with his love of Israel and his commitment to Israel.

The award we bestowed on Greenblatt is earned by world leaders and influential figures that have gone “above and beyond” for the state of Israel and the Jewish people.
