MIXER
MIXER, the Israeli workspace company, is about to open its first workspace overseas, in Washington DC. The company is currently renovating the new complex and busy fixing it up to standard. Last Wednesday, MIXER held a grand opening of the complex on the rooftop of the new building, with hundreds of Israeli and local guests. Jewish-American billionaire Michael Milkin held an inspiring conversation with Howard Shore, chairman of MIXER. A third billionaire who attended the event was Kingdon Gould, who owns the building. Omer Granit, CEO and founder of MIXER, welcomed the guests and gave them a tour of the new complex.
David Grossman
The Israel Prize and Emet Prize laureate, esteemed author David Grossman, was the guest of honor at an evening held by the Tel Aviv University Business-Academic Club. The event, held last Sunday, marked the beginning of the academic year. Welcoming the guests were: chairman of the Friends Association of the University, Amnon Dick; CEO of the Association, Adi Olmert; and university president, Prof. Ariel Porat, who introduced the author. Porat informed the guests that he and Grossman know each other back from the days when they served in the IDF together. Attending were: Sammy and Tova Sagol; Marius Nacht and his wife Inbar Afek-Nacht; Nava Dick; Gabi and Etty Rotter; Saul and Tzipi Kobrinski; and Yehuda Zisapel.
Valrhona
Valrhona, a French premium chocolate manufacturer, recently launched a new kosher chocolate called Tibita Milk, which is made from Israeli milk, at the Tishbi Winery which imports and markets the Valrhona brand in Israel. Aliyah and Absorption Minister Yoav Galant attended the event and congratulated Golan Tishbi, an owner of the winery, on the new chocolate product line, which indicates that the world-renowned company sees Israel as an important and significant chocolate consumer and producer of unique chocolate.
Adika in SoHo
Israeli fashion brand Adika recently opened a new store in the SoHo area of New York. Dedy Shwartzberg, founder and CEO of Adika, and Orna Elovich, VP of Business Development, were pleased to encounter Israel Bonds President and CEO Israel Maimon, and businessman Shaul Nakash at the grand opening.
Liora Ofer
With the start of the academic year, The
Lounge learned that one of the busiest and most successful businesswomen in Israel, Liora Ofer, the controlling shareholder of Ofer Investments, has taken on a new challenge. Ofer was appointed chair of the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya Friends Association, a popular institution among the young generation. Incidentally, a year ago, the Interdisciplinary Center headed by Professor Uriel Reichman, honored Ofer with an honorary degree.
