Strategic Affairs Ministry launches campaign to reflect life in the shadow of terror
The Strategic Affairs Ministry has been operating in emergency mode over the past week following the intense fire from the Gaza Strip. During the 48 hours of fighting, hundreds of pro-Israel content, photos, GIFs and videos were uploaded to social networks under the #IsraelUnderFire hashtag, reaching more than 47 million views. In addition, the ministry launched a digital campaign in the United States, Germany, Spain and France, to reflect the complex realities of Israeli civilians who regularly deal with rocket fire from terrorist organizations. The campaign has focused on Twitter, where network activists and international opinion leaders are particularly active.
In addition, DigiTell Network, the network of pro-Israel social media influencers that was created by the Strategic Affairs Ministry, has been active on social media since the assassination of Islamic Jihad commander Bahaa Abu al-Ata. The network includes more than 100 Internet influencers from more than 20 countries, with more than 15 million followers.
“Antisemitic hate discourse has been strengthened precisely at a time when Israeli citizens face the missile threat of terrorist organizations,” said Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan. “The worldwide disregard for human rights violations by terrorist organizations in Gaza reveals the hypocrisy and falsehood of Israel’s critics, and we are working to present the truth in the world. While the IDF and the GSS are thwarting terrorists, at the same time it is important that we thwart the lies and incitement that are being spread against Israel on social networks around the world.”
