It is an unfortunate fact that all leading politicians are highly egotistical and self-serving, and our current leaders – US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are not exceptions. But, at least they can claim to have gained valuable experience ruling for some time.

Blue and White Party leader Benny Gantz of is also egotistical and self-serving, but he has no experience in government to back that up. As far as I can see, he is the current cause of the stalemate in Israeli politics that is preventing the formation of a National Emergency Government that I and most Israelis want under the present circumstances of the coronavirus.

If he doesn’t agree to a National Emergency Government with Netanyahu as PM for the first rotation, while he learns the job, (and then his turn will come), we will be forced to have a fourth election, with almost certainly the same results.

However, no one wants a fourth election and indeed, one cannot be held under the circumstances of isolation, quarantine or lockdown.
