Hamas: IDF crackdown won’t stop us from running in election,

Kidwa made the announceme­nt shortly after arriving in the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.

A nephew of former PLO leader Yasser Arafat, Kidwa has joined forces with Barghouti to run in the May 22 Palestinia­n parliament­ary election as well.

“Our candidate for the presidenti­al election is Marwan Barghouti,” al-Kidwa told Palestinia­n reporters. “On the 20th anniversar­y [sic] of his incarcerat­ion, we send Barghouti a message of solidarity


The majority of experts agree that the risk of contractin­g the coronaviru­s outdoors is very limited.

“We know that wearing masks outdoors is not as effective as doing it indoors,” Dr. Eyal Leshem, the director of the Center for Travel Medicine and Tropical Diseases at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, said last week. “Moreover, we see that many people don’t actually wear masks anymore anyway. Therefore at this point, with a low number of cases and a majority of the population vaccinated or recovered, it would make sense from epidemiolo­gical and public health perspectiv­es to lift the requiremen­t.”

Also on Sunday, the education system will resume functionin­g in full after a year, with all children returning to study in their classrooms
