has lived in the U.S. for the past 13 years since fleeing violence in Guatemala. ICE told her to bring a one-way plane ticket to Guatemala at her next check-in. But, unwilling to abandon her American 10-year- old son and 2-year- old daughter, she sought sanctuary and lives in a church in Manhattan. Debra chose to be photographed in a courtyard in the church so her children could be outside.
