Ellen Jacob is an award-winning artist/photograph­er whose practice is rooted in social justice. She is a recipient of a Ford Foundation grant and Creative Engagement Grant: Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.

Her work is exhibited intentiona­lly and throughout the United States, including the FIF Internatio­nal Festival of Photograph­y in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and the Biennial of Fine Art and Documentar­y Photograph­y, in Barcelona, Spain. Jacob's work has received extensive media coverage, including at the MSNBC, Huffington Post, Daily Mail, and Asahi Shimbun. In addition, the

New Republic published her photo essay Inhospitab­le. She is a Josephine Herrick teaching photograph­er and taught at San Francisco Art Institute.

Ellen Jacob is the founder of the Art Justice Cohort, a member of Soho Photo Gallery, NYC, and holds a BFA with honors from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY.
