Rockers turn out for breast cancer awareness in Ra’anana

- • By BARRY DAVIS

Rock stars Izhar Ashdot and Peter Roth will offer their seasoned entertaining skills for a good cause December 10 (the reception is at 7:45 p.m., the show starts 8:15 p.m.), when they perform at the One in Nine fundraiser event. The concert will take place at the Performing Arts Center in Ra’anana.

One in Nine, established in 1994 by Rudy and Moshe Buchsenbaum, whose daughter Littal died from breast cancer at a young age, works to raise public awareness of breast cancer and to advance breast health in Israel, including through early detection. The organization provides support for patients and their relatives and friends and offers legal services. Specialist consultants are also available and professional support is provided from the diagnosis through all stages of the disease.

One in Nine operates a team of volunteers who have recovered from breast cancer themselves and have received special training. The organization also runs breast health workshops that teach women how to conduct self-examination for early detection of breast cancer. The workshops are for women of all ages and can be held anywhere in the country.
