Re­gard­ing “For­mer cab­i­net min­is­ter Go­nen Segev con­victed of spy­ing for Iran” (Jan­uary 9), I some­times won­der if this coun­try is part of the same planet as other coun­tries!

Segev, con­victed of spy­ing for one of our most dreaded en­e­mies, is given only 11 years in prison! How lucky he is to be at the mercy of an Is­raeli gov­ern­ment and not oth­ers – which would have had him shot or at the least given him life in prison with­out pa­role.
