Una benestante famiglia newyorchese ha incaricato l’architetto giapponese Toshihiro Oki, formatosi presso lo studio Sanaa di Tokyo, di progettare a Long Island una casa per weekend in cui fossero protagonisti gli spazi destinati alla vita sociale, resa brillante dalla frequente presenza di ospiti. Il progetto enfatizza perciò la zona giorno pensata come piattaforma sociale in questa abitazione in cui tutti gli ambienti sono in osmosi fluida e diretta con il vasto giardino dalle differenziate qualità spaziali, che dà accesso alla piscina e al lungomare.
