CONNECTIONS
Artificial lighting technology is evolving rapidly. And many of the developments are about connections, in terms not just of the elements that make up appliances, but also and more importantly about the opportunities for remote control – from a smartphone or tablet – and interaction with human presence changing daylight conditions, enabling them to automatically modulate their intensity (and thus save energy). But now things are to be taken to an even higher level, as connectivity boundaries are pushed back still further and efforts are made to replace harmful electro-magnetic waves with imperceptible luminous signals for ultra-fast wireless connections.
