NATURE IS FASHIONABLE
SONO 300 gli oggetti protagonisti della grande mostra Fashioned from Nature, che dal 21 aprile (e fino al 27 gennaio 2019) il Victoria and Albert Museum di Londra dedica alla relazione tra la moda e il mondo naturale, che se un tempo era visto come fonte di ispirazione e terreno di preda per pregiate materie prime, oggi è divenuto “nuova frontiera”, oggetto di tutela e salvaguardia. La curatrice Edwina Ehrman ha attinto dagli archivi del museo per estrapolare capi di eccezione che dimostrano come dal 1600 in poi la natura non abbia mai smesso di ispirare la moda. THERE WILL BE 300 objects at the exhibition Fashioned from Nature that the Victoria and Albert Museum will be devoting to the relationship between fashion and the natural world from 21 April (and until 27 January 2019). A world that once was seen as a source of inspiration and a hunting ground for prized raw materials has today become a “new frontier”, something that needs preserving. The curator Edwina Ehrman has drawn on the museum’s archives exceptional garments to demonstre how nature has provided the inspiration for fashion ever since the 1600s.
