| SI FESTEGGIA CON UN GALA LA SECONDA EDIZIONE DEL PREMIO IDEATO DA ABITARE E DESIGNBOOM PER CELEBRARE LA CULTURA DEL PROGETTO / A GALA CEREMONY CELEBRATES THE PRIZE SET UP BY ABITARE AND DESIGNBOOM TO PAY HOMAGE TO THE CULTURE OF DESIGN, AWARDED THIS YEAR FOR THE SECOND TIME

Milano torna a celebrare le eccellenze internazionali del design con The Design Prize, il progetto ideato e promosso da Abitare e Designboom, con la collaborazione di Edison e il Patrocinio del Comune di Milano. Il premio ha un format originale e considera il mondo del design come un universo complesso che attraversa molte discipline e che non è più riducibile al prodotto e a chi lo firma. The Design Prize coinvolge un comitato scientifico internazionale composto da oltre cento importanti personalità del progetto, della ricerca, della cultura, delle istituzioni e dell’impresa per selezionare le idee, gli autori, le realizzazioni e gli eventi più meritevoli del 2017. A scegliere i vincitori nella short list indicata dal comitato scientifico è una giuria qualificata, quest’anno composta da Stefano Boeri, Jasper Morrison, Guta Moura Guedes, Carlo Ratti, Libby Sellers, Alex Mustonen (Snarkitecture), Kjetil Thorsen (Snøhetta) e Ingeborg de Roode. La sera del 17 aprile al Museo Teatrale alla Scala si scopriranno i vincitori cui verrà assegnata un’opera d’arte prodotta in 10 pezzi che raffigura la Madonnina nell’interpretazione di Antonio Aricò.

Milan will once again be celebrating international excellence in design with the Design Prize, the project set up and promoted by Abitare and Designboom, with the collaboration of Edison and the patronage of the municipality of Milan. The prize has an original format and treats the world of design as a complex universe that spans many disciplines and can no longer be reduced to the product and its creator. The Design Prize relies on an international advisory board made up of over a hundred important figures from the spheres of design, research, culture, the institutions and business to select the most praiseworthy ideas, designers, creations and events of 2017. The winners will be chosen from the shortlist drawn up by the advisory board by a distinguished jury, composed this year of Stefano Boeri, Jasper Morrison, Guta Moura Guedes, Carlo Ratti, Libby Sellers, Alex Mustonen (Snarkitecture), Kjetil Thorsen (Snøhetta) and Ingeborg de Roode. On the evening of 17 April at the Museo Teatrale alla Scala the winners will be revealed, each of whom will receive, a work of art produced by Antonio Aricò in 10 pieces that interprets the Madonnina, the statue of the Virgin Mary on top of Milan Cathedral.
