In a beautiful building in Paris, Stéphanie Coutas has designed an apartment of 300 m2 with a palette of white tones to dilate and brighten the spaces. «The owner had only two requests: a white dominant and the right spaces for some remarkable Syrian antiques», says the interior designer. The task was to interface those striking presences with the decor concept of her studio SC Edition. The shades of white are interrupted by surprising touches of color. «I wanted to convey the sensation of being in a sort of museum, but with a warm, welcoming atmosphere», Coutas explains. In the very large geometric hall, pale marble flooring and selenite walls set off big kinetic paintings by Marc Cavell. Two large sculptures form a diagonal in the space, lit with a custom chandelier by SC Edition composed of hundreds of shards of glass. Lalique panels face a large metal and glass mirror. The opulent dining room features a collaboration between the interior designer and the Irish artist Joseph Walsh, who has created the table and chairs, with a golden motif that picks up colorful accents from the Mira crystal chandelier by Quasar. The ample master bedroom is also in white, interrupted only by the colors of the Solid Liquid sculpture by Arik Levy and the Tongue chair by Pierre Paulin for Artifort. The rest is white, like the Volage bed by Cassina. The en suite bathroom is white, of course (plus an orange Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons for MSP), with floors and walls in Calacatta marble, a large horizontal mirror by Designflooring and Corian washbasins by Cosmic with Gessi Rettangolo faucets. The hyperfunctional kitchen has a worktop in white quartz.
