The concept of calm sums up this residence built in the 1970s at Castiglione della Pescaia, in Maremma, where the spaces refurbished by Marina Filippova, a cosmopolitan Russian interior designer, capture the spirit of a place with a forceful identity. The internal layout has been radically revised, merging smaller rooms to form more spacious areas. The vintage atmosphere of the decor reflects the calm aplomb of Seventies style. The pine groves of the context bring aromas and freshness. «Many of the rooms have large glass doors opening directly to the garden», Filippova points out. Green tones predominate inside as well, in keeping with the wishes of the clients. Art is another fundamental element in the mix, since the owners have a collection of photographs and paintings. «In the living area there is a large photograph by Shirin Neshat, which I have taken as a focal point around which to construction the entire environment». Collectible design also plays an important role in all the spaces.
