first new feature comes at the entrance: a large glazing offering a view of the dining room, making the living area more fluid and luminous. The library is a place for relaxing, with a large corner sofa, though the true gravitation point of the house is the kitchen. A long corridor leads to the secluded nighttime zone, where a guestroom has been eliminated to create a larger bedroom flanked by a wardrobe and a bathroom. The latter features marble for the horizontal and vertical surfaces, along with appliques, antique-finish mirrors and brass fittings. The other bathrooms also have vivid personality, with black and white facings and lively touches of color. The furnishings include many custom pieces created by Droulers Architecture: dining tables, a long bench in the living area, and the bookcase wall that incorporates the fireplace. These are joined by old and new objects: antique Alemagna “hatboxes”, chandeliers, a collection of pipes, modern paintings, Venetian tapestries. Both Alberto and Alessia are very fond of this neighborhood in Milan, full of fine residences from the early 20th century. THE END
