An oasis made to measure

A villa on four levels, open to the green setting, with a pool and an underground spa. Fluid spaces with few dividers. Large ribbon windows, works of art and contemporary design. We’re in Aversa, in the province of Caserta, but we could be anywhere. «The owners travel a lot, and they wanted a home similar to a hotel», says Antonio Zagaria, creator of the project. The starting point was a recent construction, with few structural constraints: this made it possible to have a totally open ground floor, seamlessly combining the kitchen, living area and dining room. The master bedroom (on the first floor, like the daughter’s room) also has a fluid layout. The upper level has been organized as an apartment for the owners’ son, with a kitchen and a whirlpool bath on the terrace. The family loves entertaining: the informal dining table is an extension of the worktop in the kitchen (six meters in all). The spectacular basement also has a convivial spirit, with a pool, a wellness space and a big room for cigars and wine.

Greenery is everywhere, in a situation of constant indoor-outdoor interaction. The decor is based on close collaboration with the clients. The floors are in natural oak, with a mosaic in the basement. There are unconventional oversized sofas, as well as true functional sculptures: the large dining table has an amoeba-shaped glass top over a tangle of steel tubing; and the floor lamp in the living area is a strange three-footed creature that seems to be made of molten metal (both by Jacopo Foggini).
