Walser’s tradition in Piedmont

The Monte Rosa, 4.637m above sea level, is the second highest mountain in Europe, and has a tourist tradition for skiing, climbin the high mountains, and the Walser’s traditions and hstory. Turists may admire the typical wooden houses, dating back to ancient times (between the years 1.200 and 1.500 DC) spreaded along the gentle slopes of the side valleys, like the beautiful Val Vogna which starts from Riva Valdobbia, the pastures, the tastes of the mountain and the art of the churches and chapels along the paths. The Monterosa Ski’s area comprehends three important places: Alagna Valsesia, Gressoney and Champoluc. 42 sky lifts, 180 km of sky traks completely wrought, 40 km of tracks with snowmaking.
