A new experience of thermalism
When did the concept of thermalism come about? We are used to think that the origin should be fixed in the age of ancient Rome, but it may not be so. In the area of Montegrotto Terme, a few kilometers from Padua and Venice, there is a complex of spas dating back to prehistory. Whatever the reality, in this territory, a close bond harmoniously unites nature, water, care, and art. These are the essential principles that inspired the Neró SPA project - New Experience, a state-of-the-art wellness center built on the remains of a complex of spas considered prehistoric. In the idea of Alberto Apostoli, one of the most important architects, designers and trend setters in the field of "Wellness" on the international scene, is the "thermal-territory-art" scheme that has shaped the design of a next-generation SPA it extends for over 1200 square meters, which has its strengths mainly in the healing waters and in the hot vapors that flow from the ground. A natural basin of inestimable value, which returns the specificity of the territory in the materials used for the realization of the sensory area. An environment articulated in relaxation areas, inspired by Eastern and Ayurvedic philosophies, where to search for and re-establish the connection that is often lost between man and nature. Summa of the symbolism expressed by the Apostoli studio, the great waterfall in the central basin of the SPA, which refers to the lake considered sacred that - and this is a really certain fact - in prehistory dominated this land. Neró SPA - New Experience is located on the noble floor of a building overlooking a centuries-old park. Glancing beyond its windows you can admire the vapors of the thermal pools (open until midnight) rising towards the sky for a mystical and relaxing show. The wellness center embodies and sublimates the essence of the Wellness SPA of the third millennium: “A multi-purpose, holistic and avant-garde structure, conceived as a work of art and at the same time an expression of local history and tradition and of the nature of a territory that for millennia has known and valued the therapeutic qualities of its waters ”, as described by the Apostoli.
