Meditation, yoga, self discovery
Located in the peaceful frame of Italy’s Lake Orta, Mandali is a Retreat Centre run by a nonprofit organisation.mandali's mission is to offer guests an immersive experience of positive disconnection from the hustle and bustle of everyday life through various practices of meditation, yoga and self-discovery activities. The center welcomes teachers, groups and students of all traditions and from all over the world, and provides a safe and nurturing environment for all those who foster an authentic spiritual journey toward mental and physical well-being. Designed by architects Gian Carlo e Matteo Primatesta, the Mandali Retreat Centre was architecturally inspired by the typical Italian medieval towns, with a large amount of local reclaimed materials employed within simple building structures. Following the same village-like feeling, and surrounded by a quiet alpine surrounding, Mandali is composed of several dwellings who can accommodate up to 57 guests in premium, single, twin and shared bedrooms. Common spaces, conceived following the Feng Shui’s cornerstones of harmony and balance, are designed to make guests feel comfortable and cozy, whether sipping a cup of ginger tea on the terrace or enjoying a lovingly-made delicious vegetarian meal in the dining room. The center is fully equipped with amenities to ensure complete relaxation: a Turkish bath, sauna and swimming pool as well as a variety of massage options. A strong commitment to ecological sustainability represents one of Mandali’s grounding values: eco-friendly materials are used for the building work, natural wood chips for the heating system, solar energy for the kitchen and swimming pool. Any surplus power generated is delivered to the main local grid so that it can be used by the local community. Sustainability applies also on the vegetarian foods served daily, sourced locally and organically. Mandali’s in-house programme, The Mandali Experience, is conceived to help people to unplug from their busy daily life and reconnect with the true self through soul-feeding activities and body care. Participants from all walks of life - beginners and experienced - can freely join yoga practices in various styles, group sessions, periods of silence and meditation under the guidance of experienced teachers.
