Re delle Alpi: Ski, Relax & SPA

-

In the small alpine village of La Thuile, in Valle d’aosta, few chilometrs away from the French border, in 1924 it was buil a barrack for the guards that had to defend Italy. After various vicissitudes, today the barrack no longer exist, first transformed into the Hotel Maison de Neige and then, thanks to an extensive renovation commissioned by the owners, the Falzone family, in the Re delle Alpi & SPA, a luxury 4-star hotel, located in 2000 meters above sea level, with a view of Mont Blanc. The architectural project, which saw the addition of a modern and elegant building next to the historic structure, and which allows guests to access the hotel from a new reception, was designed by Studio Associato LGL. Already in the lounge, with great attention to detail, in an elegant modern style with Alpine references, you can see the warm colors of the comfortable entrance seats that combine with wood and slate tones, all illuminated by the modern wall fireplace and the brightness of the backlit onyx at the reception desk. After a year and a half of construction, the rooms have increased from 14 to 26, including 5 executive suites and 3 junior suites with their own private wellness area. The rooms, the interiors and the SPA are instead the work of Studio D73, international architecture and interior design, which has chosen a color scheme with a relaxing effect and designed for maximum comfort for guests. The new Wellness & Relax SPA can also accommodate guests who are not staying at the hotel, with changing cabins and a dedicated reception. Different types of sauna, Turkish bath, a wet Mediterranean bath and reaction showers, as well as a large infinity pool with waterfalls for neck massage and water games: immersed in hot water or comfortably lying on the seats of the relaxation area, guests can admire the breathtaking panorama of the Alps from the large windows overlooking the immaculate valley. The hotel is adjacent to run 7, the longest in the Espace San Bernardo ski area - 160 kilometers of runs between France and Italy - and in winter it can only be reached on skis or with a snow cat service, made available by the hotel. The scenario that appears in summer is different, with the structure completely surrounded by greenery and high-altitude nature, easily reachable by the state road.
