Megayachts “tailor-made”

-

Boats that create a good impression everywhere - wide, tall, sinuous and corpulent - are made in Holland and Germany, but when speaking of large figures, from 20 metres upwards, Italy dominates. There are historic shipyards and those that over time have increased their production capacity and dimensions, but - and of this you can be certain - yachts made in Italy are still a guarantee of quality, particularly when there are no limits to the budget, materials and technological research. Proof of this are historical names such as Azimut, which with the 72 foot My Vica demonstrates that it is able to jump on the bandwagon of progress and satisfy any customer’s request, even with more “contained” dimensions. The deckhouse and flybridge are made of carbon fibre to reduce the weight by 30%, a fact that, on a yacht of this length, greatly helps it to reach the 31 knots maximum speed and 26 knots cruising speed. This innovative gem cae out in the same year as the relaunch of the Azimut brand identity, which was the result of a collaboration with the architect Michele de Lucchi, who was responsible for, among other things, the Zero Pavilion at Expo 2015, Milan’s Triennale and the Gallerie d’Italia in Piazza della Scala in Milan. The “hybrid” technique is also seen with Vivace Iron Man by Benetti, which chose fibreglass for the hull and deck, and aluminium (for the first time) for the superstructure. But this is not the only reason that the company makes headlines: the purchaser, inspired by famous cartoon characters, chose the hull design by Stefano Righini and had it furnished by Alfred Karram Jr in an extremely modern and innovative style using sharp geometric shapes and materials and finishes of the highest quality. Style emanates from the new 43-metre maxi-planing yacht from the Fast line by Baglietto, the Pachamama, a masterpiece in aluminium
