The unique and exclusive FBO in Milan

-

The new companies SEA Prime and Prime AviationServices, controlled by SEA S.p.A., have launched an investment plan for Business Aviation at Milan Linate. Could you explain to us what this involves? ATA was created in 1962 for the purpose of managing General Aviation at Milan Linate Airport and became part of the SEA Group in December 2013. From that moment an important relaunch and development project was initiated, which, during the past year and a half, has seen management involved in laying down the foundations of the business plan for 2015-2020 focussed on the efficient positioning of the new brands on the market. This got underway with the restyling of the Milan Linate Prime’s Business Aviation Airport and the development of a full portfolio of services provided now by SEA Prime S.p.A. and Prime AviationServices S.p.A. Prime AviationServices is now the most important FBO in Milan in terms of number of flights and passengers, and one of the largest and best served in Italy and Europe. This brand includes all services in a broad portfolio, designed to offer passengers and crew, 24 hours a day, the highest standards of quality, which are seen in the hospitality services available in the PrimeLounge and the new catering brand PrimeGusto, serving superior Italian food and wine as well as popular international dishes, but also in the Business Center, which is open to the city and hosted on the upper floor of the terminal, and the concierge service. The investments for up to 2020 are about €30 million, of which €12 million will go to build two new hangars, adding to the 8 already present. From a business point of view, we have invested a great deal in advertising: Bulgari and Armani have purchased important spaces, and BMW has invested in both advertising space and by providing us with cars for transporting passengers on the apron. Based on the number of daily flights, you are now the first FBO in Italy and the sixth in Europe. Will this investment allow you to take Milan Linate’s executive terminal to the highest level in Europe? Milan Linate Prime is already one of the top performers in Europe with a record growth of 6.6% YTD. This confirms the potential of development of this segment and industry trends, which has seen an increase in aircraft sold mainly in the highest tonnage classes; even the medium sizes at Milano Linate Prime have seen an increase of 25% in the last five years. The impact on employment is also positive, since 26 companies operate out of the terminal, with 250 employees employed overall and over 90 crew members. The repositioning strategy of SEA Prime has already yielded results in the first few months of 2015: Milano Linate Prime climbed in international rankings and became the fourth airport for Business Aviation in Europe in terms of number of flights. In the five year period 2015-2020, in accordance with development trends outlined for the entire market, SEA Prime aims on achieving year-onyear growth in movements handled and tonnage, thanks to investment plans that have given us a cutting-edge, modern, functional and aesthetically beautiful terminal, with a full range of services. Your FBO at Milan Linate offers quality services for discerning customers. What are the services most requested by your luxury clientele, businessmen, government officials and well-known celebrities? Our goal has been to reorganise the terminal so that we offer a series of high level services that correspond to the needs of our customers, passengers and crew, helping us to become a “gateway” to the city of Milan. On the ground floor, which is 750 m2 of open-plan area, we offer a very popular concierge service, which provides information on the city, obtains tickets for events or shows, books cars and limousines and other services of this kind, much like the
