Si può essere motoristi o velisti, amanti dei catamarani, delle traversate oceaniche o, addirittura, appassionati di motonautica e di corse offshore. Quando c’è la Coppa America, però, c’è poco da fare: diventiamo tutti un po’ velisti! Se poi c’è un team italiano a lottare per conquistare la Vecchia Brocca, traduzione nostrana di “Auld Mug”, ecco la regata più famosa del mondo assume un sapore tutto diverso.

A marzo 2021 tra le superbarche con i foil che si daranno battaglia per conquistare il trofeo più ambito della vela, qui in Italia non si potrà che fare il tifo per Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team.

Agli ordini del Team Director e Skipper, Max Sirena, il team è pronto a dare il massimo nell’edizione tecnologicamente più avanzata di sempre. Gli AC75, questo il nome dei monoscafi foilanti a vela di questa America’s Cup, saranno così veloci da toccare i 50 nodi di velocità massima. Per capirci, il Pardo 38 in foto, tra le barche appoggio di Luna Rossa, è stato motorizzato con tre fuoribordo Mercury da 300 cavalli ciascuno, complessivamente 900 cavalli. Con queste premesse la 36esima edizione della Coppa America ha tutte le carte in regola per essere davvero memorabile e adrenalinica, anche per chi ama il mondo dei motori.

For instance, the Pardo 38 (see photo), among the chaise boats of Luna Rossa, is powered by three Mercury outboards, 300 HP each.

With these premises, the 36th America’s Cup has all the credentials to be really memorable and exciting also for the most fervent powerboating enthusiasts.
