Flybridge and outboard: an odd (winning) couple

Ormai i fuoribordo si vedono su qualsiasi lunghezza di barca e l’ultima tendenza è di installarli anche sui piccoli flybridge, intorno ai 10-11 metri. L’ultimo esempio arriva dalla Polonia. Facciamo un piccolo salto indietro. Nel 2018 il Parker Monaco 110 è stato nominato come miglior barca a motore per famiglie grazie a un mix di caratteristiche che lo rendevano unico sul mercato. Oggi vediamo la sua evoluzione: il Parker Monaco Flybridge. Una barca di 11 metri con due motori fuoribordo ed il flybridge. In sostanza un cruiser per tutte le stagioni, con prestazioni notevoli.

La prima caratteristica è che i fuoribordo, posizionati a poppa dell’imbarcazione, sono coperti da un prendisole. Questa soluzione li nasconde alla vista, ne attutisce di molto il rumore, ma li mantiene comunque facilmente accessibili in qualsiasi circostanza.

Perché mettere i fuoribordo a bordo di una barca di questo tipo? Tra i motivi ci sono praticità di manutenzione, lo spazio che si guadagna senza la sala macchine all’interno, il fatto che sempre più armatori li richiedano.

E poi c’è la crescente offerta anche in termini di potenza di questi motori marini, che stanno letteralmente spopolando sul mercato. Il design esterno è grintoso, nonostante il flybridge. Si apprezza lo spazio presente nella zona del pozzetto di poppa, dove c’è anche la copertura dei fuoribordo, sfruttabile come prendisole quando la barca è ferma. Il grande salone interno dispone di una cucina completa, alle spalle della plancia di comando, piuttosto luminosa. Sopra la timoneria c’è una finestratura che permette ad ancora più luce di entrare all’interno. Sulla destra il divano con tavolo accoglie fino a 5 o 6 persone per cena. Abbassando il tavolo questa zona diventa un letto aggiuntivo. Sottocoperta, così come in tutta la barca, l’attenzione è stata dedicata molto anche alla vivibilità. Sono presenti due cabine: una a prua, con finestratura in murata ed un’altra a centro barca, sulla destra, con un altro letto doppio.

A bordo troviamo anche un bagno con box doccia separato.

NOWADAYS, OUTBOARDS CAN BE FOUND on boats of all sizes and the last trend is to install them even on small-sized (10/11 m) flybridge models. An example comes from Poland. But let’s step back to 2018, when the Parker Monaco 110 was named the best family powerboat thanks to a combination of features that made her unique in the market. Today, the market welcomes her evolution: the Parker Monaco Flybridge. Featuring a length of 11 meters, it’s an outboard flybridge boat. In other words, an all-season high-performance cruiser.

The main innovation is that outboards, positioned in the stern of the boat, are covered by a sundeck. This way, they are hidden but easily accessible and significantly silent at the same time. Furthermore, outboard propulsion results into easier maintenance, more space on board (since there is no engine room) and great power at sea. Despite the flybridge, the exterior design is sporty and appealing, with a large cockpit in the stern which can also be used as a comfortable sundeck when at anchor.

The wide indoor lounge is bright and equipped with a fully-equipped galley, positioned just behind the helm station. A large window above the console floods the interior with a considerable amount of natural light. A sofa with a table on the starboard side can accommodate 5-6 guests for dinner. When the table is lowered, this space can easily turn into an additional berth.

Below deck, as throughout the boat, particular attention has been paid to comfort. The sleeping zone consists of two cabins: one in the bow, with hull window, and another amidships, with a double bed. Added to this is a head with separate shower box.
