Torqeedo arriva in Italia. Siamo pronti per la nautica elettrica?

Il tempo della mobilità elettrica sull’acqua per l’italia sembra essere arrivato. Il marchio Torqeedo, tra i più grandi produttori di motori elettrici al mondo, ha deciso di puntare sulla nautica italiana strutturato una rete di vendita diretta sul territorio. Ci siamo fatti raccontare da Gennaro Giliberti, sales manager e key account Torqeedo per l’italia, com’è la situazione, quali sono i punti critici e come si possono superare.
“Soprattutto per i laghi stiamo ricevendo moltissime richieste, per esempio per fuoribordo con potenza intorno ai 20 cavalli. Va detto che per ora quella che va per la maggiore è l’applicazione commerciale, come per esempio le taxi boat. Il motivo è presto detto: l’uso intensivo consente di ammortizzare in 3-4 anni il prezzo, risparmiando sul carburante. Questo non toglie che siano molti i diportisti che usano già i nostri motori, soprattuto per chi vuole navigare in Aree Marine Protette o sui laghi”.
Città come Parigi o Amburgo, per non parlare di Amsterdam, hanno già puntato sul piccolo trasporto sull’acqua in elettrico. Qui in Italia potremmo essere a buon punto, ma capita che manchino i posti dove caricarle. C’è la volontà, ma bisogna lavorare ancora dal punto di vista delle infrastrutture. Siamo di fronte a una vera rivoluzione, che però va gestita. Di certo il mercato è maturo per accogliere questo tipo di prodotti, anche perché portano con sé vantaggi importanti guardando al futuro”.
“Quello che bisogna cambiare è l’approccio. Per fare le miglia che fa un piccolo motoscafo durante un’uscita giornaliera, le batterie di un motore elettrico sono più che sufficienti. Certo, non sono motori pensati per prestazioni estreme, ma anzi per una navigazione più lenta e tranquilla. Già a livello progettuale c’è la necessità di imbarcazioni studiate ad hoc per questo tipo di propulsione. Per una barca planante veloce per ora il motore elettrico non è la soluzione ideale. Su una barca di dimensioni più grande, dislocante, è sicuramente più facile, sia in termini di spazio, sia di peso. Se non si punta sulla velocità, ma su una navigazione più lenta anche le piccole dayboat e i tender offrono molte opportunità di sviluppo. È una questione di approccio e di consapevolezza del tipo di navigazione che si andrà a fare”.
THE TIME FOR MARINE ELECTRIC MOBILITY

The Torqeedo brand, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of electric motors, has decided to focus on the Italian nautical sector, structuring a direct sales network in the country. We have interviewed Gennaro Giliberti, Sales Manager at Torqeedo and key account for Italy, to find out more about the current situation of the Italian market.
“Especially for lakes, we are receiving a lot of requests, for example for outboards with power around 20 HP. It must be said that, for now, the most popular is the commercial application, such as taxi boats. The reason is obvious: intensive use allows the price to be amortized over 3-4 years, saving on fuel. This does not mean that there are many boaters who already use our engines, especially for those who want to navigate in Marine Protected Areas or on lakes”.
“Cities like Paris, Hamburg and Amsterdam have already focused on small electric water transport. Unfortunately, Italy has only few places for it. There is the will, but we still have to work in terms of facilities. We are facing a real revolution, which however must be managed. Certainly the market is ready to welcome this type of products, also because they offer many important advantages for the future”.
“What people need to change is their approach. The batteries of an electric motor are more than enough to travel the miles that a small motorboat covera during a daily outing. Of course, they are not designed for extreme performance, but rather for slower and quieter navigation. On a design level, there is a need for boats designed specifically for this type of propulsion. For a fast planing boat, the electric motor is not the ideal solution.
On a larger, displacement boat, istead, it is certainly easier, both in terms of space and weight. If you don’t focus on speed, but on slower navigation, even small dayboats and tenders offer many opportunities for development. It is a matter of approach and awareness of the type of navigation you can enjoy”.
