Due anime, zero compromessi
Two souls, no compromises
SCANDINAVIAN DESIGN IS DOMINATING the world of medium-sized boats. The new generation of Nordic boats focuses strongly on a more essential aesthetic, a high level of comfort, safety and many intelligent solutions on board to improve livability. On the 11-meter segment, Nimbus Boats is carrying out a very interesting project, with three different boats developed on the same hull. They are called Tender 11, Commuter 11 and Weekender 11, the latter arriving between 2022 and 2023. All aim at different needs.
The Commuter 11 has a very protected and livable interior, which makes it usable in all sea conditions, all year round. Similarly, the Weekender combines the typical features of a day cruiser with a modern design and a very protected salon. Today, we’ll explore the third model of the range, the Tender 11 that, featuring an overall length of 12,40 meters, has being particularly successful in the Mediterranean and Florida. “For us – explains Nimbus Boat Sweden Sales Manager Joans Göthberg – a tender is a boat suitable for any activity in the water, so with the right comfort to sunbathe, have lunch or dinner at sea. It can be therefore used for short-range family cruises. Like all the other boats developed from this platform, the Tender 11 has two separate cabins below deck, a large head with shower, a refrigerator and a galley”. The bow cabin has a double bed. The second double cabin is located amidships. This “cruiser” version of the T-11 goes hand in hand with long-experienced owners, who perfectly know the main features of this boat and therefore choose it as a tender.
“Many customers of ours – continues Jonas Göthberg – are long-experienced sailors who often have an other long-range cruiser. The T11 is then added as a boat to enjoy short-range outings with family or friends”. The T11 is therefore a good maxi tender. Maxi tenders are increasingly popular, normally chosen as chaise boats to support the mother ship according to needs. Jonas Göthberg confirms this trend and the Nimbus T-11 is perfectly in line with it. Especially thanks to its deck layout, with a modular cockpit in the stern that can easily transform into a dining table, and an enveloping windscreen that guarantees excellent protection.
Powered by twin outboards, 300HP each, the Nimbus T11 is a good option even for beginners, thanks to the numerous navigation tools available on board.
THE HULL
Propulsion ranges between 600 and 700 HP, with two Mercury outboards or two Volvo Penta D4 DPI sterndrives, 320 HP each. Performance promises to be interesting, also thanks to an important optimization work on the hull carried out by the Nimbus team of designers, as well
as for the one carried out on the outside. “The Nimbus T-11 has a double step hull and reaches up to 50 knots. We chose a sharp bow section to cut the waves and a relatively moderate V on the transom to achieve a fuel efficient hull. We also have a large flare to push the water out and add buoyancy in the bow section for the open sea. With these shapes, the boat is suitable for sailing in all conditions while remaining stable and dry“.
The price for a Nimbus T-11 equipped with two Mercury V8 300HP outboards, navigation system, joystick, air conditioning, bow thruster, heating with transport to Palma de Mallorca is 365,000 euros, VAT excluded.
