Lo storico albergo Helvetia & Bristol, il primo in città inaugurato nel 1885, incarna al meglio il concetto di Starhotels Collezione, il top di gamma del Gruppo italiano d’hôtellerie di lusso, che raccoglie 12 dimore d’epoca in 10 destinazioni nel mondo. Dal 2016, anno dell’acquisizione, qui è avvenuta una piccola rivoluzione, orchestrata da
Elisabetta Fabri, figlia del fondatore di Starhotels e oggi a capo del Gruppo, con il supporto del team interno di interior design. Il décor delle 64 camere e suite è impreziosito da quasi 200 pezzi d’antiquariato restaurati da Antonio Casciani maestro ebanista già collaboratore di istituzioni come gli Uffizi e il Metropolitan Museum of Art di New York, vero punto di riferimento nel quartiere artigiano di Santo Spirito. Oggetto di un attento recupero sono stati anche i marmi originali dei bagni, ricomposti rispettando il disegno delle nervature e recuperando quasi il 100% delle lastre policrome, pezzi unici derivati da cave ormai estinte. Frutto di un meticoloso lavoro artigianale sono pure il parquet in rovere massello a spina ungherese e finitura naturale, creato ad hoc, i lampadari di Murano, le opaline, gli imbottiti, le carte da parati, i tendaggi e le boiserie, tutti realizzati in Italia, molti dei quali a Firenze. E ancora non è finita, perché il work in progress continua nel palazzo accanto, l’ex Banco di Roma, dove la celebre designer Anouska Hempel sta realizzando altre 25 camere, una Spa e un rooftop bar panoramico. Ci sono poi il Bristol Winter Garden, dove lo chef Pasquale D’Ambrosio alterna menù da light lunch a cene da veri intenditori ispirate alla cucina italiana, e il Bristol Bar & Lounge con il suo delizioso dehors, che offre una vista unica su Palazzo Strozzi accompagnata da musica dal vivo.

Antonio Casciani, already a collaborator of institutions like the Uffizi and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, a true landmark in the Santo Spirito artisan district. The original marble of the baths was also subject to a careful recovery and was recomposed respecting the design of the ribs and recovering almost 100% of the polychrome slabs, unique pieces derived from quarries which are now extinct.The result of meticulouscraftsmanship is also the parquet made of solid oak with herringbone

view. Alternatively, there is the BristolWinter Garden, where chef Pasquale D’Ambrosio proposes light lunch menus and dinners for true connoisseurs inspired by Italian cuisine, and the Bristol Bar & Lounge with its delightful dehors, which offers a unique view of Palazzo Strozzi accompanied by live music.
