PESARO
Pesaro è Città della musica, ma anche città della bicicletta: 90 km di piste ciclabili formano la «bicipolitana». Da non perdere nell’area: la Sfera Grande di Arnaldo Pomodoro; il Villino Ruggeri, palazzina in stile Liberty sul lungomare; la Rocca di Costanza degli Sforza; Casa Rossini, museo dedicato al grande compositore pesarese.
FANO
Fano vanta importanti testimonianze di epoca romana, come l’Arco di Augusto, il monumentale accesso alla città dall’antica via Flaminia. Tra i tanti eventi qui c’è un Carnevale tra i più antichi d’Italia. Da vedere: San Francesco, suggestiva chiesa sconsacrata a cielo aperto.
URBINO

mostre in tutta la regione. Da visitare: la casa natale di Raffaello; Palazzo Ducale, il gioiello della città, che ospita anche la Galleria Nazionale delle Marche; Fortezza Albornoz e Parco della Resistenza, parco fortificato sopraelevato con vista panoramica.
GRADARA
Il borgo medievale di Gradara è un piccolo capolavoro perfettamente conservato. In cima al paese sorge l’imponente castello dove, intorno al 1200, si è consumato il tragico amore tra i personaggi danteschi Paolo e Francesca.
MONDAVIO
Il piccolo paese si sviluppa intorno alla Rocca Roveresca, una maestosa costruzione fortificata rinascimentale, successivamente divenuta prigione e oggi visitabile.
FOSSOMBRONE
Fossombrone è uno dei maggiori centri della provincia. Da visitare: Area archeologica Forum Sempronii; Ponte della Concordia, iconico ponte a un solo arco; Casa Museo Quadreria Cesarini; Marmitte dei Giganti, canyon del fiume Metauro.
SANLORENZOINCAMPO
I vicoli e le piazze del centro storico di San Lorenzo in Campo conservano ancora la struttura medievale. Da visitare: Palazzo della Rovere. Museo Archeologico della città romana di Suasa. Borgo Montalfoglio.
PERGOLA
Pergola è nella lista dei Borghi più
belli d’Italia ed è luogo di ritrovamento dei Bronzi dorati, sculture equestri di epoca romana.
URBANIA
L’antica Casteldurante è un gioiello architettonico, dove restano forti le tracce di Federico da Montefeltro. Da visitare: Palazzo Ducale e i suoi musei. Barco ducale, residenza estiva del Duca. Da brivido la Chiesa dei morti, con le sue celebri mummie.
PIOBBICO
Dominata dal Castello dei Brancaleoni, Piobbico sorge all’ombra del Monte Nerone. Da visitare: Sant’Ubaldo, eremo rupestre costruito nella roccia. Eremo di Santa Maria di Morimondo.
CAGLI
Il centro storico di Cagli è perfettamente conservato, con il Torrione Martiniano. Da non perdere la chiesa romanica di San Domenico e Ponte Mallio, di epoca romana, sull’antica Flaminia. ■

Gallery of Marche; Albornoz Fortress and Parco della Resistenza, an elevated fortified park with panoramic views. The medieval village of GRADARA is a little masterpiece, perfectly preserved. At the top of the village stands the imposing castle where, around 1200, the tragic love between Dante’s characters, Paolo and Francesca, was consumed. The small town of MONDAVIO develops around Rocca Roveresca, a majestic fortified Renaissance building, which later became a prison and can now be visited. FOSSOMBRONE is one of the major centres of the province. Must visit: Archaeological area Forum Sempronii; Ponte della Concordia, iconic single-arch bridge; Quadreria Cesarini house museum. Marmitte dei Giganti, canyon of the Metauro river. The alleys and squares of the historic centre of SAN LORENZO IN CAMPO still retain the medieval structure. Must visit: Palazzo della Rovere; Archaeological Museum of the Roman city of Suasa; Borgo Montalfoglio. PERGOLA is on the list of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Some gilded bronzes, equestrian sculptures from the Roman era, were discovered right here. URBANIA, the ancient Casteldurante, is an architectural jewel, where the imprint by Federico da Montefeltro remains strong. Must visit: Ducal Palace and its museums; Barco Ducale, summer residence of the Duke; the Church of the Dead with its famous mummies is spine-chilling. Dominated by the Brancaleoni Castle, PIOBBICO rises at the foot of Mount Nerone. Must visit: Sant’Ubaldo, a rupestrian hermitage carved into the rock; Hermitage of Santa Maria di Morimondo. The historic centre of CAGLI is perfectly preserved, with the Martiniano Tower. Don’t miss the Romanesque church of San Domenico and Ponte Mallio, dating back to Roman times.
