Amo le spiagge di Minorca e rilassarmi al Torralbenc, uno degli hotel più belli di Spagna. Le Canarie sono bellissime. Quando vago sull’isola di El Hierro mi sento su un altro pianeta. Poi c’è sempre la Castiglia. Qui alloggerei al Castillo del Buen Amor. Pranzerei a L’Era, un ristorante appartato che chiamo “il Fäviken spagnolo”. Se c’è tempo per un salto nei Paesi Baschi passerei la notte nel leggendario María Cristina dopo una giornata a gustare pintxos. Andrei anche in Andalusia, nell’atmosfera classic luxury della Finca Cortesín e dell’Anantara Villa Padierna. Non potrei non cenare al Bardal di Ronda, mangiare la paella ad Alicante o nuotare a Cadaqués prima di un weekend nel mio quartiere, Chamberí, a Madrid.

I love Menorca’s beaches, and relaxing in Torralbenc, one of Spain’s loveliest hotels. The Canary Islands are beautiful. I imagine I’m on another planet when I wander the isle of El Hierro. Or there’s always Castilla where I’d stay at Castillo del Buen Amor. Lera is where I’d eat, a remote restaurant I call ‘the Spanish Fäviken’. Do I have time to go to the Basque Country, spending the night at the legendary María Cristina hotel after a day filled with pintxos? I’d also need to get to Andalucía, for classic luxury at Finca Cortesín and Anantara Villa Padierna. And I couldn’t miss dining at Bardal in Ronda, eating paella in Alicante or swimming in Cadaqués before a weekend in my hometown neighbourhood, Chamberí in Madrid.
