L’ombelico del mondo

«ESSERE ACCOGLIENTI è UN DOVERE e Forte dei Marmi ha l’obbligo di far sentire tutti ben accetti», ci ha confidato un amico (e scoprirete perché l’ha detto proprio leggendo questo numero di ForteMagazine). «Abbiamo ricevuto un bene e dobbiamo dimostrare di averlo messo a frutto nel migliore dei modi, non solo sfruttarlo fino ad esaurirne la convenienza», ha aggiunto un secondo (anche le sue parole sono fedelmente registrate in questa edizione della rivista). Non ci sentiamo di aggiungere altro. Le due affermazioni bastano a dimostrare quanto lo spirito del Forte sia più che mai vivo e come tra noi ci siano ancora persone che sanno esattamente da dove veniamo e, soprattutto, in che direzione dobbiamo puntare. Stando così le cose, anche se non è vero, possiamo pure pensare di essere l’ombelico del mondo. Perché pensarlo è soprattutto un’assunzione di responsabilità: verso chi ci ha preceduto; verso chi verrà dopo; verso noi stessi; verso i nostri ospiti. | “To offer hospitality is a duty and Forte dei Marmi must be committed to making everyone welcome,” a friend told us (and you’ll discover why as you read this issue of ForteMagazine). “We were made ‘custodians’ of an asset and we must demonstrate that we have cultivated and cared for it in the best possible manner – and not just exploited it as long as it was profitable,” added another (you’ll find his words too, in this issue). We don’t think there’s much else to say. These two statements are enough to demonstrate to what extent the “Forte spirit” is still alive and well and how, among us, there are still people who know exactly where we came from and, above all, in what direction we ought to be heading. If this is the way it is, we can believe we are indeed the center of the world, even if it’s not strictly true. Because thinking it implies taking responsibility – toward those who came before us; toward those who will come after; toward ourselves; toward our guests. Центр мира | «Быть гостеприимными – это необходимость и жителям Форте дей Марми необходимо дать почувствовать гостям города, что им здесь рады», доверился нам один человек (и вам станет понятна причина сказанного им после того, как вы прочтете страницы этого журнала). «Нам досталось благо и мы не можем не показать разумное им пользование, сократив до минимума истощение ресурсов нашей территории», добавил второй наш собеседник (и эти слова повторятся эхом в репортажах, отраженных на страницах нашего журнала). Нам нечего добавить нового. Утверждения двух людей довольно убедительны для того, чтобы увидеть насколько сильной есть живость духа Форте дей Марми и что среди нас есть те, кто осознает, откуда ведут наши корни и, прежде всего, куда и к чему нам необходимо стремиться. Исходя из вышесказанного, мы вправе считать себя, пускай своеобразным, но центром мира. Понимая это, мы принимаем на себя определенную ответственность: по отношению к тем, кто был до нас и кто придет после нас. Мы отвечаем за нас, живущих здесь, и за тех, кто приезжает к нам в гости.
