The history of NH Hotels begins in Spain, in 1978, with a hotel in Pamplona, followed by hotels in Madrid, Barcelona, Latin America, Europe, and the United States. Currently, NH owns 350 hotels located in 28 countries around the world. We ask Andrea Pierini, director of the hotel NH Collection Roma Fori Imperiali, to tell us of the history of NH and its significance. What are the brand's strengths, what characterizes this Spanish enterprise, and what was it that convinced you to accept the management of the structure at the Imperial Forums?
That of NH Hotel Group is a history characterised by growth. In Italy, it is a leader in the hotel sector thanks to the acquisition of the Framon and Jolly hotel chains in 2006. The company stands out on account of the training of its employees through the NH University initiative, and in its aim of offering guests memorable experiences, surpassing expectations. In Italy, there are three brands: the "Upper - Upscale" hotels, situated in exceptional locations; the 4star “Urban Hotels”, for business travellers looking for strategic locations; and “Nhow”, a chameleonic and unconventional brand, designed by the most creative minds of our time. The company project is enhanced by the NH Collection Roma Fori
Imperiali, a true gem of a hotel, established in 2019. The terrace is the hotel's strongest feature: I literally fell in love with the breathtaking view of the Victor Emmanuel II Monument (Altare della Patria) and of Trajan's Forum.
In addition, located in Milan is the most prestigious Italian NH hotel, the interiors of which were realised by Italian architect Matteo Thun. Tell us, Mr Pierini, what are the characteristics of the "Nhow" project?
Nhow Milano was built inside a former industrial structure, and inspired by the city of Milan and its connection to the world of design. Designed by architect Daniele Beretta and furnished by interior designer Matteo Thun, it shows itself to guests and visitors as an exhibition space, featuring as its motto "Elevate your stay." It is an interactive space, a museum, a meeting space, a crossroads of trends and an event location, all in one.
The interior design of NH Collection Roma Fori Imperiali, on the
other hand, is inspired by Ancient Rome and by cinema.
The hotel was created and designed to offer an unforgettable stay experience, through the discovery of the history of Rome, made famous by the "Peplum" film genre. It is a 5-star boutique hotel, built inside an elegant 19th-century building, and inspired by a narrative that follows the history of cinema. From the reception to the rooms, all the way up to the panoramic terrace overlooking the Imperial Forums, guests have the opportunity to experience a unique journey
