Sportiness and elegance are polar opposites but somehow Pershing has always married them. Fitting stuff given that it was named after the indomitable and equally inventive American General John Joseph ‘Black Jack’ Pershing. Having built innovatively designed, high tech and very beautiful boats for over three decades, the Pershing brand has now made another leap forward with the Pershing 140. With an LOA of 44.3 metres, the Pershing 140 is the top of the range model, sealing the brand’s entry into the superyacht segment in style. The new 140 footer is also the first Pershing to be built from aluminium and constructed at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona. It is the product of the partnership of architect Fulvio De Simoni, the Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee and its Engineering Department.

Oggi il brand Pershing, che da oltre trent’anni costruisce yacht con un’innata inclinazione verso l’innovazione progettuale, tecnologica ed estetica, fa un ulteriore passo in avanti con Pershing 140.
Con i suoi 44,30 m di lunghezza fuori tutto, Pershing 140 si colloca al vertice della gamma, suggellando l’ingresso del marchio nel segmento dei superyacht. Il nuovo 140 piedi è anche il primo Pershing costruito in alluminio e realizzato presso la Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard di Ancona. È frutto della collaborazione tra l’architetto Fulvio De Simoni, il Comitato Strategico di Prodotto Ferretti Group e il Dipartimento Engineering del Gruppo.

L’interior design su misura rispecchia il gusto dell’armatore
Although on a larger scale, the Pershing 140’s sleek lines retain the family feeling of the brand: “The arched side window used for the first time on the 70 many years ago is one of Pershing’s long-standing signatures,” confirms Fulvio De Simoni.
The Pershing 140 is not just the brand’s first superyacht but also the first with a raised bridge directly connected to the sun deck. It is also the first to have a dedicated owner area on the main deck and the first to raise liveability on all decks and all exterior areas to new heights as well as having a beach area that opens out on three sides.
The Pershing 140 is a tri-deck with an interesting aft concept. The cockpit has been raised to create a mezzanine level, creating a vast al fresco area that goes all the way from water level up to the sun deck with the entire stern area in communication. The water-skimming beach club has been fitted out with sun beds, seats, footrests and sun umbrellas by Royal Botania. The sober, elegant cockpit furnishings are by Ethimo, while the 10-seater table a few steps down and a little further forward is by Fast. On the sun deck, the coffee table and bar chairs amidships are also by Royal Botania while the sofa and ottomans are by Talenti Outdoor Living.

Seppur su un’altra scala, le linee esterne filanti del Pershing 140 conservano il family feeling del brand: «Un segno distintivo presente da sempre», afferma Fulvio De Simoni, progettista dell’intera gamma sin dal primo, epico esemplare, «è la forma ad arco della fiancata laterale che venne impostata per la prima volta sul Pershing 70, molti anni fa». Pershing 140 non è solo il primo superyacht del brand, è anche il primo con la plancia di comando rialzata direttamente collegata al ponte sole; il primo ad avere l’area armatore sul ponte principale e il primo ad estremizzare la vivibilità di tutti i ponti e delle aree esterne, arrivando ad avere una beach area apribile su tre lati. Per accentuare la pulizia delle linee esterne, tutta la zona degli ormeggi di prua è coperta con meccanismo automatico up/down.
Pershing 140 è sviluppato su tre ponti, con un’interessante concezione della zona poppiera: dato l’innalzamento del pozzetto che diventa un piano mezzanino, si crea una vasta area aperta sul mare che sale dall’acqua fino al ponte sole, mettendo in comunicazione tutta la poppa.

The interiors of the first Pershing 140 feature an open space on the main deck comprising two areas. The first features seating by Midj in Italy and a round Vegas poker table by Vismara Design. The other area is furnished with green sofas and armchairs and a coffee table, all by Roche Bobois Paris. The full-beam master suite lies forward on the main deck and the yard gave it a double bed plus a walk-in closet to port and a lounge area to starboard. In this first example, however, the owner chose to install an entertainment room, removing the bed to make way for sofas, a centre table by Cassina, Midj in Italy seating, a Roche Bobois Paris coffee table and a large screen TV. brellone dell’azienda olandese Royal Botania, specializzata nel furniture design di lusso per l’outdoor. I complementi di arredo sobri ed eleganti del pozzetto, come le sedute, la chaise longue e il coffee table sono dell’azienda italiana Ethimo, mentre il tavolo per dieci persone (raggiungibile scendendo alcuni gradini verso prua) è del brand Fast. Nel sun deck, il coffee table e le bar chair p a centro barca sono sempre di Royal Botania, mentre divano e pouf sono di Talenti Outdoor Living.
Per quanto concerne gli interni, gli armatori di Pershing 140 possono progettare su misura il loro superyacht in collaborazione con i designer dello Studio Fulvio De Simoni e i Project Architect della Superyacht Yard di Ferretti Group. Negli interni della prima unità Pershing 140 è collocato, nel main deck, un open space costituito da due zone: nella prima troviamo sedute dell’azienda Midj in Italy e tavolo rotondo da poker modello Vegas fornito da Vismara Design, mentre nella zona living le sedute e il divano di tonalità verde sono di Roche Bobois Paris, così come il coffee table. La suite armatoriale full beam è posizionata nella parte prodiera del main deck e allestita dal cantiere con letto matrimoniale, cabina armadio sulla sinistra e salotto a dritta. La particolarità di questa prima unità è che l’armatore ha scelto di installare una entertainment room al posto della suite armatoriale, eliminando il letto per far spazio a divani, un tavolo centrale prodotto da Cassina, sedute di Midj in Italy, coffee table di Roche Bobois Paris e una grande TV.
